About the 10K Course

The Newport Resolution Run's 10K course offers an exciting extension of the scenic 5K, delivering even more coastal beauty and iconic landmarks. Starting at South Beach State Park's Day Use parking lot, runners follow the paved South Jetty trail. Around 0.9 miles into the race, the views open up along South Jetty Way, showcasing the vast Pacific Ocean to the left and Yaquina Bay ahead. Unlike the 5K, the 10K continues past the 5K turnaround, leading runners closer to the majestic Yaquina Bay Bridge. They’ll pass under the bridge and run alongside Rogue Brewery, crossing SE Marine Science Drive to follow SE Ferry Slip Road. The route takes runners past the renowned Oregon Coast Aquarium, a highlight of the course. Runners then turn left onto SE 35th Street and head toward Idaho Point, where the turnaround awaits. On the return journey, runners retrace their steps, enjoying the coastal landmarks once more before heading back to South Beach State Park. The course is mostly flat and fast, ideal for setting a personal record, with the final 200 feet offering an exciting finish on the shoreline. After crossing the finish line, runners can celebrate with a refreshing plunge into the Pacific Ocean.
