Half Marathon

TRAIL-HEAVY ROUTE

A true New Year’s challenge - 10 miles of trails and 3 miles of scenic road segments.

  • Elevation: 1,364 ft of total gain.
  • Terrain: ~77% Trail / 23% Road.
  • The Finish: Exit the trails at 11.5 miles and head back to the Marina for a celebratory splash at the boat ramp!

10K Course

A flat, scenic tour of Newport’s maritime heart. This 6.2-mile route follows the 5K path for the first 3 miles before heading toward the bay's hidden gems.

  • Aquarium District: At mile 3, the course splits and follows SE Ferry Slip Rd, passing the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
  • Idaho Point Views: Enjoy panoramic views of Yaquina Bay as you run along SE 35th St toward the Idaho Point turnaround.
  • Bridge Highlights: Just like the 5K, you'll still get those iconic views of the Yaquina Bay Bridge before your bayfront finish.

5K Course

Flat, fast, and 100% paved. This scenic out-and-back showcases Newport’s working waterfront and iconic coastal landmarks.

  • Maritime Views: Panoramic vistas of Yaquina Bay and the NOAA research fleet.
  • Historic Underpass: Experience a unique perspective of the Yaquina Bay Bridge as you run directly beneath its massive spans.
  • Jetty Stretch: A refreshing coastal segment along the South Jetty before returning to the Marina for your Legacy Plunge!
