Join us for the 9th Annual RUN LOVE RUN—also known as R❤️R—a St. Valentine-themed race celebrating the love of running! Held in the beautiful coastal town of Newport, Oregon, this event offers scenic routes, friendly competition, and a fun atmosphere filled with love and camaraderie.

Whether you’re racing solo, with a friend, or as part of a family, this event is designed for runners of all levels. Dress in your Valentine’s best and enjoy a day of fitness, community, and celebration.

All finishers will receive a custom glass-blown finisher medal and a red rose at the finish line—a special touch to commemorate your accomplishment and the spirit of Valentine’s Day!

Team Ranking and Policy

At RUN LOVE RUN, we celebrate teamwork, love, and the joy of running. Our unique team ranking system ensures a fair and exciting competition across all categories and distances. Below is an explanation of how teams are ranked and the policies for eligibility.

Team Ranking System

How It Works
  • Performance Percentage: Each team member’s performance is calculated based on their finish time relative to the overall winner of their race distance.
  • Formula:
    Performance Percentage = (Winner’s Time / Team Member’s Time) x 100
  • Example:
    • 8k Winner’s Time: 38:27 (2307 seconds)
    • Partner A’s Time: 50:20 (3020 seconds)
    • Performance Percentage: (2307 / 3020) x 100 = 76.39%
  • Team Score: The team score is the sum of both partners’ performance percentages.
    • Partner A (8k): 76.39%
    • Partner B (30k): 61.97%
    • Team Score: 76.39 + 61.97 = 138.36
  • Rankings: Teams are ranked based on their total team score, with higher scores indicating better overall performance.

Ranking and Prize Eligibility Policy

  • Minimum Teams Required: To be eligible for ranking and prizes, a category must have at least five registered teams by the close of registration.
  • Unranked Participation: Teams in underpopulated categories will receive their individual times and scores but will not be eligible for prizes.
  • Transparency: Live leaderboards will be updated to reflect all eligible teams and their rankings on race day.
